The 628 makes subtle reference to the Freezer jacket which is a slang term originating from the Eton jacket, worn by the pupils of Eton College. The Eton jacket is known for its in-between length, referred to as a ‘Bum Freezer’. It has been used in reference to similar styles of short jackets worn by men, such as the military issue M41 worn throughout WWII by the Army, Air Corps, and Marines.
Our take is a touch longer than the traditional freezer; we’ve added a drop back with a modern ergonomic silhouette resulting in a superior fit. Key features include the military inspired hood shape combined with the underarm construction derived from a naval flight jacket to ensure range of movement. Soft merino wool ribbed cuffs provide comfort when next to the skin whilst keeping the cold out on those frosty mornings. We've also added a moleskin lining to the front pockets and neck line for that extra level of comfort.
As always, we've thought about the detail, so you don’t have to.
